torque is HP, at any given point you cant get one without the other or lose one without the other (torque plot could go down and the HP pot still go up because of the formula to calculate HP, but if you do something that gains say 2 ft/lbs of torue at 3k rpms, at that same RPM, you gained 1.1 HP, if you gain 2 pounds of torque at 7k rpms, at 7k you gain 9.3 HP. TQ*RPM/5252=HP

WHAT I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU PEOPLE!!!! The only true way to add balls to your ride is to sport the Type R sticker.... cmon man. everyone knows theyre good for 20+ horsepower and torque, the bigger the sticker the bigger performance. oh yeah, a coffee can give 10 if your interested..

also i really don't think gutting your cat really does much for a little 4 banger toyota. mine doesn't have one on it(PO took it out), seems just as gutless as any other 20R powered truck

I don't think I could ever remove a cat and pass that thing. Dont at least some of you still have to do that crap?

About gutting the cat... when I did that to my 3.0, it killed my low end b/c of no backpressure. A high flow cat will create the necessary backpressure, while still allowing high end HP. Also, my idle would fluctuate a lot when the cat was off. I think it had to do with the 02 sensor not picking up some readings. I would leave it on or get a high flow CarSound.
