I uploaded some more photos of the bumper installed. I will build one for a 4th generation. If you want one that is.

I drove up through BC into the Yukon/Alaska this summer, driving the Alcan. Its beautiful country to say the least.

I've been trying to find someone to fab a rear bumper for 3rd gen without much luck, as many of us have, so I'd consider driving up to be the test vehicle. I'm thinking we could get alot of the design work done over the web, with myself and others taking various measurements, and then I'd just have to drive up for a test fit. I'm not looking for something with a tire carrier, which really adds onto the cost and design work, just a simple metal plate bumper.

Very nice. 2 questions though:
(1) how about a bar on it somewhere?
(2) what about rear bumper of the same style for 3rd gen 4runners?

nice work though.

Im curious. Are the rear bumpers as bad as the front bumpers on 4 runners. Ive never really looked at the rear bumpers . What are they made of? Plastic?

Sorry. No bars 854. I just cant do the bars. I honestly dont think you need the bars. If you really really needed the bars then maybe.lol

How about you FedEx me one of your nice new bumpers for a 2nd gen and I just drive it around for a while and see how it works? And I won't even charge you for the extra gas that the 70lbs needs!!!

LEMME KNOW!!!!

Zedex,

The rear bumper on my 98 is just thin chrome. I've already put a couple nice dents in it wheeling.

That's a great looking bumper, zedex. Very different from most designs on the market. If you need a third gen test case, I'm available. (I have a 99)

I'm only about an hour south of Vancouver!

Very nice, I love the little bars over the turn signals. What does it weigh in at? And how much are they?

There's always a huge market out for these, but nobody seems to be able to mass produce any. Even so, once it comes down to it, people look at the price of custom fabbed stuff and back out. I'm just letting you know of what I've seen in the past, and if you want, ask Steve Schaeffer or Mike (Azrain) about their experience with producing equipment. It seemed like they went through hell.

But all in all, good luck with everything, your stuff looks really sweet, and if I was into hardcore wheelin then I'd be interested as well.
