New Shocks

Hey just wondering if i could put rancho RS9000 shocks that are made for a 3-4" lift on my 4Runner which is not lifted. Ive heard from some people if i put longer shocks on i will have more flex is this true??

if it isnt lifted dont put on lifted shocks... the reason being you will have more downtravel in the suspension, however you will also have more uptravel, and if you dont have this travel available because of the lift, it will top out the shock and could easily damage it from too much compression
