New shocks.

I bought some Bilsteins earlier this summer to replace the worn out Gabriels I've had. Here's how we do it down south:
Don't worry, I used jackstands underneath for safety. I've been riding on the shocks for quite some time now and love em. I just pulled a trailer full of furniture to my new apartment and I didn't notice any sag or change in ride on the way down. Big thumbs up from me!

LOL...I did something almost exactly the same.
Went out to my grandparents' farm in south Texas (Lytle to be exact), and used their tractor to lift my truck as you did so that the shocks could be replaced. Saved a ton in labor charges!
