New Member and New 4Runner Owner!!!
Hi to all...
I am new to this forum but have checked it out for the last week. Just bought a 1989 4Runner with 82,000 original miles on her. After a few minor repairs (new cat + muffler, valve cover gaskets) seems to be running pretty good. The vehicle will be making a trip with me to Iceland for 18 months and I hope she'll hold up. Looking forward to talking with everyone....navyatc

Very clean looking rig, somebody obviously took care of it if the only things you had to do was a new exhaust and valve gaskets...
And only 82k miles?!?! That is very impressing! Makes me feel old with 130k on my '95!
Have fun with her and remember...its a Toyota, its made to last...even to Iceland

Thanks Guys!
Thanks guys,
I think she'll last. Thinking about replacing the calipers (sticking a little). I'll take some cool pics of me and my rig in Iceland and post em... Just a quick question. Are the 3.0 V6s traditionally a little noisy? Lifter noise etc. Runs great just a bit noisy and a bit of a dog at higher speeds, thanks....navyatc

It looks really nice, but it's not an 89. Probably an 88. 88 was the last year of the 1st gen with the removeable top, and square-ish body contours.
82k on an 89 is great, let alone an 88!
