New Member with Exhaust Question :)

I was browsing burtmanindustries site .. and I noticed that he had dual pipes on his truck. I want dual pipes on my truck but I would like to have both pipes operational. Since I live where it gets cold .. smoke out of just one pipe wouldn't look right (IMO)... so I was wondering if anyone has actually gotten dual operational pipes to work? Or is it absolutely impossible with the spare tire being down there?

It is definately possible to have working dual exhaust. I have an 03 prerunner with dual flowmaster. The exhaust goes in the muffler and comes out with two pipes, one for each side. I have 4 inch tips and my truck is extremely loud...you dont hear them this loud. I dont like it but dont want to get it replaced.

will a dual piped exhaust make the truck rediculously loud regardless of the brand of muffler? if not what brand do you believe will give a nice grumble at idle but not a loud roar at WOT...

Muffler shop

Take it to a muffler shop, show them what you want to do, and then they'll do it. It's just bending piping around the pan-hard bar and the spare tire. Some people have taken the spare tire and thrown it on top and then just ran the second exhaust pipe right through where the spare tire would have gone.
