i purchased a 1987 4runner EFI SR5 4wheel drive 5speed. and need a new engine. the one in there is badged 22r. but i thought that the 22r was carbureted and the 22re was FI. i know the engine in this truck is FI but can it be 22r? and will all three engines(22r,22re,22rte) swap out?

is the swap easy and direct bolt or is there alot of fitting and fabrication?
