your ride would look huge w/o the boards, but it still looks good either way. i'm only 5'9 so i actually usually use my boards if mine was lifted. most people though will say take them off

Actually when the boards are removed you will see more of the undercarriage and splash guards and such so it will look a little different and not so empty underneath.
