hello im Brandon just found this forum today , lots of great stuff ,but I need a little help . ive been online all morning trying to find a wiring diagram for my 98 4runner . what I have goin on is if it sets over night the battery will go dead . I checked and I have a draw on the battery . when I pull my dome light fuse it goes away ,but so does my radio clock and power door locks. I checked my lights ,and there doesn't seem to be a problem there so I need to look further which I need a wiring diagram for ,and in the process is how I found you guys .

 

Light in glove compartment staying on all the time??

Just how are you recharging the battery ??

Maybe the battery is to the point it won`t hold a charge anymore??

 

battery is only couple months old winter killed the old one also alternator is putting out 13.8v ,but the day all this started I had the battery and alternator checked and both tested fine besides if the battery were the problem then it wouldn't stop with the dome light fuse pulled . glovebox light has already been checked also along with all the other lights inside

 

one of the diodes could be shorted allowing a complete circuit.

Is there anything not working being supplied power by that fuse??

Remove the loads one at a time till you find the cause of your problem

Aftermarket alarm or sound system??

 

no everything is working fine as always . I thought about the alternator but crossed that off my list after I completely un hooked it ,and nothing changed . everything about my 4runner is stock except wheels and tires . the only thing that don't work electrical wise is the in cash clock ,but I removed it from the dash along time ago , also the cd player in my stock radion does not play anymore just says disc error when I try if I remember correctly but rest of the radio works fine .
