Cool New to forum old guy

I just bought a 4runner. I sold my Tahoe and decided try a yota. Never thought I'd own a yota but I've always liked them 4runners so I decided to give it try. Picked up a 02 SR5 sunfire red,2WD.,1 legger ,fairly useless. gotta get a locker. leather interior. 173K. The seats are horrible anyone got input for aftermarket seats. Drop in w/o too much fuss. Got a new set of spring and bilsteins going in Monday. It's the wifes daily and she misses the Tahoe, might have to take the runner and get her a Gx470. Any help on the seats appreciated.

I hate the seats in my wife's 4runner. My butt falls asleep when I drive it. It's a limited. The seats in my Tacoma though are very comfy.

Hahaha when I bought my 89 the previous owner had 4runner seats in it, I traded them for a bench seat that week they were terrible.

Why? Are they different from my sr5 seats.my seats have been re-covered in leather but they are too soft.no support. Might look into some corbeau seats.

Got the new springs and bilsteins installed all my expectations have come to fruition. So this is how it's supposed to ride? Nice!

The seats in my 89 are very comfy. 5 way adjustable too(drivers only). Maybe your seats are just worn out.

Mine are manual 5 way too but they aren't worn. All the seats were re-covered last year in leather and the foam is fine just too soft for my liking with no bolster support. Looking into some corbeau's.

The limited seats are leather instead of cloth. The older ones tend to crack if they aren't taken care of though, so it's hit or miss as to what you might find in a salvage yard.

If you want to spend some $$, the Wet Okole seat covers might be the best seat covers around. They're pricey, but really look and feel awesome. They have options for lumbar support built-in and the like.

Like I said, my seats are leather. New leather. One year old. The foam is too soft,no support. As for Wet A$$ seats.,Okole means a$$ in da kine lingo, spent my last 8 years of my military career in Hawaii 1999-2007. I had Wet A$$ seat covers in my truck, didn't like. They make your A$$ sweat because they don't breath (neoprene doesn't breath) and the padding raises you 2" above your seat. I'm tall enough. 6'2" . The seats in the 4runner were made for average height and weight individuals and I'm neither and that's 1/2 the problem. So Corbeau seats are gonna be my next look see. Mahalo.

As a guy who is 6'3" and about 260, I hear you and completely understand. Fortunately, my stock cloth seats have been mostly good for me. I swapped the driver's seat with a junkyard find that was in mint condition, but other than that, I'll have to stick with what I've got for now.

I'd love for the seat to be able to go back just a few inches farther, but it's not terrible how it is. I do pretty much have to run with the sunroof cover open unless I want to hit the roof on the occasional bump. I really would love to be able to fit some seats from the 2003+ 4runners. Those are wide and comfy, but probably too big to fit. Anyway, update with how those seats workout for ya.

Corbeau seats may be the best option in your case, but one cost-effective answer might be to just have the foam replaced. A couple of years ago I let someone else drive my 1999 4Runner and they pointed out that my driver seat was really worn out. When I jumped in the passenger side I realized how right they were! I found a place in San Diego that did a lot of upholstery and they replaced just the foam in the bottom. It was quick and surprisingly inexpensive, and it really made a difference!

I put mint 2nd gen SR5 runner buckets in my 88 that had a worn out vinyl bench and thought Ahhhhhh these are great!

Now some of you think they suck? I guess my vinyl bench must have REALLY sucked!

I'm 6'3" and 280 and love em. And I have a flat ass!
