WOW! That's awesome!! I can't wait to tackle that. My fiance will love you for it too. She's still trying to get used to the idea of all the $$ I plan on spending for my runner.

 

Live & Learn eh!? Too bad that happend to you but atleast your alive as it could have been a whole lot worse. Anyways given what you have wrote about the whole daily driver/needs to work again asap/not a bunch of mechanical ability (yet), and the borrowing situation I say stick with the 3.0 , and just get something rebuilt. You will get it back together quicker , and should be able to complete it yourself. Doing motor swaps can get very involved , and go over budget in a hurry. You like the 4runner before how it was just stick with it , AND get a snorkel .

Thanks for the advice, without a doubt the snorkel will be the first mod of many for my rig. Although it is sluggish, I didn’t buy it for its speed; I bought it for its off-road capabilities. I’ve been drooling over a 95 Runner for almost 10 years now. I’m excited to finally be a Toyota owner and I am so happy to see how alive the Toyota community is.

Well, after this is done, you'll be able to watch me tackle a solid axle swap. That project will probably start in May.

 

Sounds great but make sure to tackle that snorkel first!!!
