I was at a dealership for minor repair (free...their fault) and went to look at a new 4Runner on display in the lobby. To my amazement, I saw the oil filter located in the same place the alternator is on the 3VZ-E and totally accessable! It also had a lip around the filter and a drain hole to catch the spillage when undoing the filter. This has to be by far the easiest vehicle to change the oil filter on ever! It also had the longer 90915-20004 filter.

Man I wish I had that setup!
