need tranny mount help

new to this forum and new to my 83 sr5 black beauty.bought it about 2months ago and have just been fixing things the previous owner didnt have time to do.ok so my problem, it has a newer 5sp tranny in it and has this weak little cross member extension to hold the longer tranny and the back end of the tranny hangs kind of low due to the weight on the little plate and my tranny bounces and is going to prematurely wear my motor mounts so does anyone have a solution to this besides welding?

go check out budbuilt.com he makes aftermarket cross members for toyota trucks. he makes one thats bolts to the 83 cross member holes and lines up rite to the newer style tranny mount.
