Need pics of underside of 99 4runner

I need to see some pics of the underside of a 99 4runner , mainly where the transfer case is . I was looking at mine and noticed a mount on the bottom side of transfer case but no cross member or anything for it to mount to . Going down the road my transmission and transfercase shifters in the console move alot and was thinking this could be why .

Add exploded rear shocks to the mile long list of broken crap on this thing .

That empty looking mount is normal. They all have it I believe. Some movement of the shifter handles is normal too.

prorunner- You have a pretty good looking leak. Might want to check your transfer case fluid level.

Yup, I didn't notice it until now. There's nothing on my garage floor thou.
My 4runner has been sitting for almost 2 yrs now. I just swapped in a new 3.4 because I hydro-locked my old one. I just need to finish up a few things before it's moving again, water pump timing belt etc.

My stock '97 came with a belly plate but not for sure if the '99's did as well on some? The guy who put in my new engine scrapped it for money. He's been fired from uncle's car lot since then. But still would rather have the plate so will try and get another before the rock sliders go on.

The "mount" that is shown in the last photo is a vibration damper. (in the photo it is turned sideways) It should hang down so it can move and counteract the transfer case movement/vibration.

Prorunner, did you turn your damper or did you catch/bend it on something?

No, there isn't anything else that mounts to the transfer case. It just hangs out there off the trans. There is a tiny skid that only wraps around the bottom piece. You can buy a BudBuilt belly skid to cover the back of the trans and the transfer case.

Hmm I could have caught it on something but from what I can tell it's hanging straight.

It's bent 90 degrees to the rear. The two flats should hang down toward the ground. I know that some people have removed theirs but, in my opinion, it's there for a reason. It's there to reduce vibrations and the less vibrations you have the better. It may reduce the vibrations that you don't even feel. I'll be dropping my belly skid in the next day or so. I'll post a picture of mine then.

Oh thats crazy lol. The bend in mine is so clean, but I've high centered my truck a few times and that's probably what done it.
I don't know what I'm going to do about that tcase leak tbh. I might just top it off with gear oil and run it until I sas. Just because I want to go to double gear driven cases.
