Need opinions on what to do with my Runner
Im giving my 4Runner to my brother he needs a car for college, and wants a 4Runner just like mine so I figure what the hell, I'll buy a new 1 an 05 cause I hope they give it the rumored hp increase, if not I'll still end up with a new 1
Now my dilemma is I change the oil every 5k with Mobil Drive Clean Dino juice, the drive to his school is 1000 miles and of course 1000 miles back, so thats 2000 miles without even doing anything, the truck will be leaving in July and won't be back til December, thats 5 months so he should probably put on at least 1000 a month making the total mileage 7000 till he gets back, hopefully staying within 7500 miles which is the warranty period, if he does 10k then I don't care I doubt their will be any problems with this engine.
So should I just swap in M1 synthetic and let it go, it good for 10k even 15k and it's mostly highways down their, can any Georgia members confirm this or should I just let the oil in it ride and have my brother take it to a dealer at 20k and have them change the oil.
Im really leaning towards the M1 for peace of mind cause my brother does not know cars and I don't want some dealership to screw him over, especially with my truck, and it less chances of being damaged by a shop, so then all he has to do is put gas in it.

Im in New York, Rockland County he is going to school at Life in Marietta, Georgia not to far from Atlanta, their is a dealer in walking distance from his school.
Im leaning towards the M1 cause it's just the easiest solution, my Dad would just leave the dino in their and not care but he leases his cars and would change the oil at 20k if it was not for me, I don't want to destroy my engine, and I think the V8 would benefit from Synthetic cause the oil after 5k looks darker then the oil in my ES300 which I left in their for 7k, so the 4.7 is a thrasher
