I work at a toyota dealership and we are taking in a 93 SR5 4runner 5 spd, 4 wheel drive. It has a little body rust over the rear wheel wells and on the tailgate. IT has power windows, locks, sunroof, cruise, and the rear window works well. It has 128,xxx and I can get it for $49xx out the door. Is it a good buy. I have wanted a 4runner for a while to replace my 90 Mazda B2600i that I am giving to my dad. Any thing to look for and/or opinions would be great.

run the VIN and see if the head gasket has been replaced. make sure they show you proof . other than that, make sure all the compenents are working and all the other regular stuff you should look at.

if the heads havent been replaced, make the dealer do it before you buy. then the $4900 figure is good.

 

Rust on the tailgate (top I'm assuming) is normal. I just had mine fixed. Also look in front of the rear wheelwells under the rear door. I had holes in mine that had to be fixed to pass inspection. Make sure the tailgate window works and check out the boots on the halfshafts up front.
