Need a new Mass Airflow Sensor

Well, I took my truck to our local mechanic today to see what needed to be done since my check engine light has been on for awhile and when I pulled the code it said it was running too lean. (P0171 or something). They cleaned my MAF and said that it should be fine but I drove it up a pretty steep hill today and it came on again. Now they say that I need a brand new MAF, and the part would cost about 220$. Does this seem right? I'd much rather find the part cheaper and install it myself if possible, any input? Thanks!

Talking Expensive

Yeah, they cost a bit, but not $200. The last one I heard bought was for around $95 and that was at the dealer.

Well, I called up the dealer and turns out it is still covered under my extended warranty, so no worries Thanks for the replies!

I too was recently forced to replace my MAF, and I was quoted via phone no less than $150 from all the dealers in San Diego. However, and possibly by mistake, I was emailed a quote of $118 from an online parts request from one of those very same dealers. Printed that sucker out and forced them to honor it even though they were reluctant (no surprise).
