Need more torque

I have a 1999 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner, 2.7, 4 cyl. i want to get some more torque out of it. i pull a bass boat and it just dosnt have the Umph! i was thinking of an underdrive pully but i cant find one. any suggestions on how i can get more torque cheap?

It could be that your trying to tow something with a toyota. Im not sure what would held but possibly a heavier flywheel. Unless of course its an automatic.

None of your options to get more torque will be cheap.
Regearing is probably your best bet and a supercharger a close second.

^ Yeah, I was going to say regear. Maybe even smaller tires (which is essentially regearing, but really half-joking suggestion).

That would only help in the upper ranges

Regear or SC seems like the only practical option--or sell it and get a truck with 3.4

Gears as suggested. And I mean really numerically high gears. Best source for torque is gears. Gears multiply torque. The lower (numerically higher) the ratio, the more torque you have multiplied. Only down fall is top speed and engine RPM. Hey, if you go high enough, you might just turn 1st into a granny gear.

its a 16 foot fiberglass outboard boat on a single axle trailer. I would guess it weighs about 1200 to 1500 lbs.

ive got 30/10.50/15 tires on it. Are those too big?
