Can you guys with some nice offroad rear bumpers post up some pics so I can give the guy I'm talking to some ideas? I'm looking for something that looks like it could've been factory but tougher. No crazy tube bumpers but nice looking that flows with the body lines. I am wanting rear shackle mounts, hitch and hopefully swing out rear tire carrier.

terminator... great thread...I am interested as well. A BruceTS bumper is in Southern Cali and Armorology is in Colorado and Steve is in Arizona. So I am trying to find a local fab shop closer to me...in Northern California. Anyway, I am interested to see some pics. I saw a nice BruceTS bumper that CastiacRunner had.

Thanks man and its like 45 minutes away. Do you know if he does any fab work though...like a rear bumper from Armorology and that kind of thing? Have you been up there yourself? I was looking for some other yota parts as well. thanks man.

Not yet, I'm waiting for the guy to get back to me so I can discuss this. I like the swing out tire style on Ultimatetoyota.com but I can't get the page to load now. That site is good but slow and I always have problems accessing it and if I clean my system of all cookies I can't log back in. Oh well.

 

Andy...that's good to hear. I may need a couple of parts from him as well. Does anyone know if they do any weld jobs? I think I am just gonna call him. I was also checking out their sliders and they have 3 sizes ( 58", 67" 78") Now I have heard that the 58" comes up a little short for a 4Runner but will a 67" be TOO Much??? If anyone has that length on a 3rd gen ('99 - '02) I would really appreciate if if you could post some pics. Thanks.

 

I've been told several times that 66" is the way to go with the 3rd gens.

I really like the lines on this one. It doesn't have the tire carrier, but you could add that. I think the view from the side is really sleek. Speaking of which, cvlighthouse originally posted these pictures. If he or anyone else has some detail shots of this bumper I would really appreciate it, I want to build one of these this summer.

 

would the driver be cited for not having mud flaps? it looks good, i'm just curious.

 

Not sure where he is, but we live in CA so Yes! There is laws about everything

 

in cali you only need them if you have wider than stock tires (33x10.50's stock width) i dont run them

 

there aint much you have to have here in oklahoma...its flippin awesome..our cops around here dont care how much the tires stick out past the fenders either...i seen a guy running 38x19.50 boggers...or well..i think they were 19.50's..might have been 17.50's or 18.50's...anyways..they stuck out like 8 in or so..maybe more..NEVER got a ticket...i was astonished....

 

The black double cab looks nice, but it's not just the bumper, he's also removed some of the bed there too. That's why it's sitting up nice and high, and looks nice and tucked in. It's not just "hanging off" the back like most rear bumpers.

The only downside of having it all tucked like that is that the tire carrier wouldn't have anywhere to go if you wanted one.

It would either be in the way of the brake light, the tailgate, or just sticking straight out the back.

I guess they could cut out a little bit of the corner, but that would be cutting it close, no pun intended.
