Please help me locate the ABS computer and its speed sensor wire on a 1999 4wd SR5 4runner? I have checked my transfer case and I do not think there is a speed sensor on it. I have also looked for a locker harness in hopes of using its speed sensor wire and it appears my 4runner did not come with any locker wiring. If you can suggest another place other than the ABS computer that I can tap into the speed sensor please let me know. Pics or a scan would be greatly appreciated.

Well in my '98, when I had the dash all taken apart for cleaning, I saw a module labeled ABS on the driver's side, front/center. Don't know what it was all about, but I'm pretty sure it was labeled a sensor as well. I'd get a pic for you but it's all put back together.

Speed sensors at each wheel I beleive.

 

The ABS sensors sit near the end of the axels. Look for thick wire connecting to each sensor sticking into the axel (couldn't find a pic)

The grey wire with a blue stripe speed sensor wire you need to tap into is behind the speedometer or at the abs ecu on the passengers side front kick panel.
