Need help on 96 4runner head gasket

I've got bit of a problem. I'm replacing the headgasket and while im in there I decided to do the water pump also. When I took the nuts off of the water pump the stud came out too. Anyways I can't find water pump studs for a toyota 3.4 v6. Anyone know where to find them?

Basically any autoparts store will be able to set you up with studs. Take the old one to a Napa or similar, there should be a pick a part aisle with the sizing gauge for you to thread in your stud and determine what size it is. My guess like a 1.0x6mm perhaps smaller the waterpump doesn't need a lot of force to hold it in place.

Did you ask more than one person? Try a Napa store. Also it seems that Napa actually hires people that know what there're doing, at least my experience

Clean off the threads of the studs that thread into the block, take some Blue Loctite and place it on the threads, insert the studs back into the block. Take some locking Vise Grips and tighten them fairly snug. Let dry for at least 1hr IMO.

Of the three water pumps I have replaced on different 5vz engines one or more of the studs came out. No problems so far (up to six years) on the engines by what I did above.

Or if you want new studs, the part # is 90116-08270. Need 3. I'd still use some blue Loctite on them.
