Name that switch... (help needed)

I have a 2nd gen pickup, and have pretty much taken every piece off of this truck at one point or another. Somehow, I just never noticed a small switch attached to the gas pedal bracket under the dash...

It has two wires coming out of it, both green with white stripes, going into a factory connector with one green/white and one black/white wires. The switch isn't pressed by any of the pedals, so it's not a brake light or clutch cruise control cancel switch. Seems to be only able to be pressed by hand. Factory in appearance.

Any idea what it is?

Thanks guys!

Actually...just took a closer look. It is actually mounted to the base of the Emergency-brake bracket....the long shaft that the E-brake lever runs in. Not a WOT switch...it has no interaction with the gas pedal. Like I said, the only thing that could hit it is your hand reaching for it :-)

Maybe an ECM reset?

Thoughts are welcome...I'll try to get a pic up.

There is supposed to be a switch at the base of the e-brake that activates the brake light when the brake is engaged. Are you sure there isn't a little tab on the e-brake that pushes this switch in when the brake is engaged?

Pull it out and the parking brake light comes on, push it in, parking light goes off. Simple as that.

that switch also activates your drls, if your rig is so equipped.

If your talking about your 93, then you have a 3rd gen pickup. 1st gen is 79-83, 2nd is 84-88, 4th is 89-95

It sounds like the switch for the brake light (for the dash) to me.

when i replaced my front parking brake cable, i had to unbolt that switch to remove the broken cable. while it was unattached, the pbrake light was on all the time and my drl's (daytime running lights) would not come on. having said that, im not sure if the same applies to us vehicles as drl's are mandatory north of the 49th.
