my own FIELD MONITOR UNIT

I uploaded some pics i took before and after..overall the install was fun, challenging and oh! so rewarding. i also documented the whole process with pictures from beginning to end..

ofcourse the before pic

and after pics

everything functions the way they're supposed to, compass and the green running bars work after being tapped into the abs sensor, outside temperature is dead on with the weather networks reading, also after hooking it up into the sensor provided, both the maplights work as well as the sunroof controls. the illumination after being tapped into the clock wire also functions perfectly. the screen is super bright during the day and not too overbearing once the headlights are on during night driving..oh yeah..forgot to clean the rear view mirror ....

Looks good! Do you live at sea level?

I wouldn't mind having the metric, its easy enough to get a ball park metric to standard conversion

with the help of my 18volt dewalt impact driver, even the blue loctite toyota guys used was no match. sorry to hear you stripped the grab screws..maybe if you tried using the"grab-it" damaged screw remover, you'll get 'em off..but then again..issues the blue loctite....

I stripped out the screws on my drivers side grab handle and found a easy way to get them out.

First get a drill bit that is 3/4 the size of the screw head and drill off both of the screw heads and remove the handle. Then get a pair of vise grips and clamp the screw thread and simple unscrew

This worked allot easier than trying to use a "easy out" or any type of "stripped screw remover".

yep metric simple, imperial 12 inches in a foot 3 feet in a yard 1760 yards in a mile, tell me how that makes sense, did a drunk come up with this or a 2 year old?. that conversion works nice if your sitting in a vehicle.....
