My new yota's

Hello, I posted on here already that I just bought my first 4 runner a 97 4x4. Also posted that my wife liked it so much she stole it from me. So I went and bought me a 01 4door taco 4x4. Anyway I thought it was time to post some pics so here ya go, hope this works.

So much for that couldn't figure out how to post the pics direct so here's some links.

No

I searched and searched for one with the e-locker, I found a few but all were several thousand more than this one I found on ebay. So I figured for what I saved I could put an arb or something, but that will be a little further down the road. Gotta sell my other vehicles now.

LOL....where do I start.
I agreed to leave the 4runner alone (for the most part) when I bought the taco. However, I already have most of the parts I need to do the cupholder mod (updating the whole center console and dash to a 99). I am still researching the grey wire mod. Also when the brakes go I will do the tundra brake upgrade. After that she makes the call on any mods.

For the taco...it already has a 2" leveling kit, so hopefully I will be satisfied for a little while, wanna pay it off quick. After that shrockworks, roof rack with expedition basket, KC's, locker's, rims, tires, more lift, and on and on.

Way down the road...SAS, snorkel, you get the idea, this could be a long post.

EDIT: Geographeen, just read your sig. I would like my 4runner to look alot like yours when done, with the addition of the shrockworks bumper, if I can talk my wife into it. And I just ordered the husky floor liners for the taco yesterday, I have had them in every vehicle I have ever owned and love them.
I have been out of the 4wd game for a while and I feels good to be back with both feet. Especially, with a vehicle I know is reliable enough to wheel and drive me home.

haha! Yup you definately have a plan! Can't wait to see your progress on both of em!

x2 on the huskies! They rock and I will buy them for life! Sometimes I feel like I should take them out once in awhile to switch it up and use my carpeted mats, but I can never bring myself to do it!

Again welcome to Yotatech and congrats on the 2 new members of your family! Hit me up if you ever have any questions...

nice looking trucks, and great deal on the Tacoma

To post a picture directly into you posts, scroll over the image on photobucket, you will see 4 lines of code that show up beneath or to the side of the picture, Copy and Paste the bottom one [img] into your post. That will show the pic instead of the hyperlink.

You can see the old floor mats in the bed in the pics. They were tore to hell, but I guess they did their job cause the carpet in the yota is immaculate. But, I knew it wouldn't be long before I tore it up (working construction, camping, fishing) so I ordered them right away.

Hit me up if you ever have any questions...
Will do.

Funny thing that green. I was actually shopping for silver cause I know I am going to scratch it and silver doesn't show much. My favorite is black, but its the worst for showing scratches. I hadn't seen a green one till I saw this one, I like green and it must like me cause for what ever reason I always end up with green.
I had a green nissan in high school (didn't have a choice) traded it in on a green ranger and now a green tacoma. When I traded in the nissan the salesman actually came to my house so I could take some stuff out of it, he couldnt' believe I traded my green nis. for a green ranger and all my parents cars were green then too.

Welcome to the Double Cab crew. Even though you don't have a factory locker, at least you got the stronger 8.4" rear. And green is my favorite color on Taco's (mine is red.... ). Good luck with the mods.

As far as the front bumper, show your wife threads like this:

Nice. You know what they say, 2 Toyotas is always better than one . Besides, your wife's a smart woman.

To post photos from photobucket, just copy and paste the entire IMG code link under each photo. As so:

Copy and Paste the bottom one [img] into your post.
I tried that and got a response (download unsuccesful) or something to that extent. I even resized a couple to help make them more forum friendly, though I am not sure if that made the file size any smaller.

Welcome to the Double Cab crew
Thanks, I have been drooling over these since they first came out.

As far as the front bumper, show your wife threads like this:
She will come around eventually I know. Right now we are still making repairs (house) from hurricane IKE so she gives me dirty looks if I talk about buying truck parts before the house is done, plus we have 4 cars till I sell the other 2. She loves to camp and fish but has never been offroading with an organized group, I am trying to get hooked up with TX 4x4 and some other local clubs cause I know once she goes on a big run with a group like that she will be hooked, she already likes trucks, but I guess one of us has to be the sensible one and fix the house first.
I thought that was why I bought the one with the camperso I could live there if I had to.

EDIT: WOW, you got it to work, I thought I did that, guess I'll have to play some more and see if I can get it to work

RE: Pictures

Basically, just input {img}"link to picture"{/img} directly to your post, except when you actually do it, put in "[" in place of the "{"

Ha, mine was hanging on for dear life, too. (the seat trim piece). The screw that was holding it on had gone through the crappy plastic. I simply put a washer on there and it's good now. Sorry to say, you'll have a hard time finding that piece. I was going to replace it, but the dealership was $$$$ (I don't think they even just sold that part. They had to sell it as a whole seat). Maybe a junk yard, but I bet they'd only sell a whole seat, too...

My seats aren't that comfortable, anyway. I'm trying to find out if 4th Gen 4Runner or 2nd Gen Tacoma seats will fit.

That is my fear. The guy I bought it from included that piece, but it was damaged pretty bad (don't know what he did)

I haven't had it on a long enough trip yet to know, but around town I am comfortable enough. I'll be interested in what you find out about the other gen. seat fitment.

My dad's 2000 Tacoma had the same problem with that side panel on the seat. Normal wear and tear caused it to barely hang on, and at only 40k, one of the two mounting tabs had broken. I don't think that part of the seat necessarily took a lot of abuse, it was just a common problem on 2000-2004 Tacomas, so I don't think it's too much to be worried about. I think it was only held on with a whimpy screw and one plastic tab when my dad sold it back to Toyota.

Also, what's that 2nd stalk on the steering column for, not the tilt lever, but the one above it? It kinda looks like a Mercedes Benz cruise control lever

You think that looks out of place too? It is the cruise control lever.
I am used to the cruise being on the right, feels odd to do it left handed.

The one on my 4runner is on the wheel and I like it better.

Maybe I can get some thin sheet metal and custom fab something that
will hold up better and paint it with that krinkle paint to match.
