my clutch pedal fix

Seems like everyone that has a 5spd has the infamous clutch groan and crickets chirping in their bellhousing. Today I attempted my fix. First i removed the clutch pedal assy. to find it very worn and missing all bushings on the springs. The metal was hogged out and looks like the bushings have been gone for some time. I put it back in without the factory spring and got the #70 spring from ace hardware. Well, then i adjusted the clutch push rod to apply some pressure on the clutch so that the noisy crickets would be gone. Seems that after doing that there was no need for the return spring because the hydraulic system of the clutch gave enough pressure to make contact with the switch. My pedal does grab much higher now that before. But all noises are gone and the clutch actuall feels great! My only concern is that by having a slight amount of pressure on the clutch creating an wear? Several other people have seemed to adjust the clutch accordingly to get rid of the noise.
