Again, Glad everyone is ok. If they total it, you always have the option to buy it back super cheap... granted it will have a salvage title, but with the money they give you you could fix what is bent!

I got rear-ended a little less than a year ago. Guy was probably going 20mph. Hit my smittybuilt rear bumper with a receiver shackle hanger in it.... the shackle hanger went straight through his Benz logo, bent his hood real bad, cracked tons of his frontal plastic, and lots of bumper damage to his car. He pushed my bumper up ever so slightly and left some plastic in my bumper. I drove away and got lunch. So glad he didn't do any damage to my rig. I think the lift and decent bumper saved me. He was way below my body panels.

Good luck!

Thanks guys for the feedback. I definitely wanted to get some options and good to have some handy.

I want to go and see my truck again and crawl in the back and see if the bed of the 4Runner is damaged or not.

Another question: if they claim the frame is bent, should I get a second opinion?

You can tell if your frame is bent badly enough to cause problems. Get the spare tire out of there, and take some pics. Post em up. Get some pics from inside. Honestly, it looks like 2 hours would get you back up and running, but we'll have to see the rest of the damage to be sure.

With the pictures, get a good shot of the leaf springs, the shackles and mounts, laying on your back under the rear end, and, if possible, from the middle of the truck looking back over the rear axle, so you can see the frame.
