Mud on engine?
Does it actually hurt anything to have some mud splashed in up into the enigne compartment? I've read some people here clean it when they are done but is it for looks or can the mud damage anything? I really can't see how it could.
Thanks for the info,

I see it like this....I take care of my truck like I would take care of myself, then I would clean my self right after I play in the mud. What can I say?...I just love my truck like that, and I'm sure others would agree in this forum. There's nothing much to brag about having mud on your truck. Just having a truck and actually using it proves something already....

Mud acts as an insulator so your engine will run a little hotter. Also make sure there is no mud in the radiator, as this will drastically increase the engine temperatures. The longer you keep it there, the harder it is to get off because it gets baked on.
Also, for newer trucks that are still under warranty, if the engine is dirty then the dealer might be less inclined to cover any maintenance items.
