More top end???
What's the best way to get more top end out of my truck. I just put in a new engine with mid-range RV cam, oversized valves, K&N filter, LC Header-high flow cat, 2.25" exhaust. I only have 300 mi on it so far so I'm not really pushing it but it definately falls a bit flat about 3500rpm. Is the timing off, I just properly adjusted the TPS and the timing reads 5DBTDC. Should I advance it, retard it or should I wait till the 500 mi valve adjustment recomended to start worrying about this stuff???? Any advice would be appreciated............Thank you, TIM.

yea 8* for timing. the rv cam is a low to mid ranger, grab a 263 or 268 from ebngbldr for a lot less money and much better service. but also with a new engine (rebuilt) if thats what you have, it takes a heck of a lot of miles, like 3-5 thousand to let the engine loosen up and break in. lots of hp will free up after that and you might want to go back in and recheck the valves and timing. dont get too discouraged yet. whats the rig and whats your tire and gear combo?
