You mean there might be 2 of these trucks out there. My friends is the exact same color. Lifting trucks that high is somthing that only people here in Hawaii do. Most of the trucks never see the trail. My friends truck in particular never even leave his grage excpet for large lifted truck cruises or going to car shows. Its a Hawaii thing that many people dont undersand. I had a guy come into my store from australia, totally amazed to how high my friends silverado was lifted. It truck makes his 40s look small.

I was in Oahu this time last year to surf
definitely some big trucks there, but nothing compared,,,to the quantity of huge massive trucks that are in North Carolina
I could not believe, among the crazy trucks we saw, well first we drove by where the guy who owns Gravedigger lives, we saw it in his front yard, I was liek wow he must be a big fan...then we saw 6-8 of the trucks out back, and I said to my friend, he is either a really big fan, or this is where he lives hehe
We saw an Escalade, brand new with 44's and crazy racks all over it, nice aluminum racks bolted through the bed on the outer quarter, which held fishing rods
people down south do not play games when it comes to lifting trucks, also they are not afraid to totally rip into new vehicles

Its SAS'd with coils .... done by a local shop that some guys here know about.
It is BIG.
I will make an effort to talk to the owner...it is in a parking lot close to me every day.

The remark that "Lifting trucks that high is somthing that only people here in Hawaii do" and " Its a Hawaii thing that many people dont undersand" is just a bit shortsighted. First - that truck isn't high! Those are only like 33s. Wide yes, high no. Looks like it should have gold Dayton wires on it..
35's, 37's, 40's are very very common all over the country especially for areas where real four wheelers build real trail rigs, lifting higher than the Runner in that pic is very very common. There are at least 5 rigs with 44s in the parking lot of my office right now... It ain't just a Hawaii thing brudda - we all understand!

really, many people dont understand why we do it. Take a tottaly perfect SUV or truck and take them sky high. Lifts that big there is no funcionality to it here in Hawaii. True Lelands truck is running 33"x 15" or somthing to that extenet, but you gotta see it in person to appreciate it. Thats a older picture, and doesnt acount for the hours he put into it. The high lifted trucks have been around forever here in Hawaii. But the trend of lifting mainly falls on Toyotas' here. Followed by Chevys and so on. True it may be common around the counrty, but here in Hawaii no one ever uses it for what its built for. Many people like me are 2wd lifted. Its all about looks and attitude of your truck here. Lifted truck people are always stereotyped. They are lifted well beyond the legal limit, the tires are ussaly very wide, we wear thick gold chains, we have nextels, and spend more money on the truck than we make legally. but all in all, my point is we buildem big for no real purpose at all other than looks. I love to see rigs big rigs around the US. I'll start taking pictues with my new digicam so I can show you guys what its like in Hawaii

Also very common here in San Diego. I think a lot of them are into the desert and dunes. But I'm pretty sure there's a lot of them never go offroading. There's some that can literally run over my 4runner...and it's NOT dropped.

NC does have some monster trucks not nessesary 4runners but monster fords and chevys and dodges. Expecially f350 or f250 with like 12 inches of lift and 40's! And in the county mud bog trucks are crazy high with 44' boggers and nascar engines are not uncommon.

thats a pic of my friends 4runner on the big island...
Hawaii is loaded with trucks that never see offroad use, well maybe drivin up the driveway to get home but yea...and are ridiculously built up. like said before, the trucks are a statement of ones self. the stereotypes are there, and its just "cool" to have a lifted truck in hawaii. style over functionality is the priority. toyotas, toyotas, toyotas...they kind of dominate the truck scene where i live...followed by maybe doge/chevy, then ford etc...jeeps are for tourists here...lol. big lifts, with small, wiiiiide tires stretched over wide rims are common, like the 4runner pic posted. minor engine mods and open diffs are nothing to be concerned about either...its a hawaii thing...were weird, but u have to live here to understand

The amount of public land sure isn't BIGGER in texas. If you like anything outdoors, don't live here.

im not in hawaii right now so i cant really get info on it, but i know its a 2000 and it hasn't been sas'd and has an arb in the front but im pretty sure the lift is a custom job. in about a month ill be back home so maybe i can ask some questions, but i think one of the shops in hilo does the work because there are i believe 2 more 3rd gens like that, but one of em has been converted to solid axle
