Monroe SensaTrac Owners....Speak Up

Give me some feedback guys. I think I'm going to go ahead and swap out my stock shocks and struts with the SensaTracs. I've done a ton of searches on here about shocks and struts particularly the Monroes, but for one last time I'd like to get anyone's input who have the SensaTracs. I considered the new Monroe Reflex, but I think they are a bit too firm for my liking. I'm looking for a better than OEM replacement, that will offer a comfortable (and hopefully improved) ride with some handling improvements. I am definitely not interested in any firm shocks like the Bils, even though I know there are a ton of fans out there. Let me know what you think guys. Later.

I had them on a passenger car and they rode fine, for what it's worth.

I put them on the front of my 4runner for the winter.
When it's cold I find them less jarring when going over expansion joints and ridges in the road. When it's -35 it was like ridng in an unsprung wagon.
The sensa-traks helped.

I put the Reflex's on my mom's Infiniti QX4, they ride really well. Not too stiff, and rebound smoothly.

TerryJ,
If I'm in the area. Right now I'm working 6-12s and really don't have time for much of anything.

My buddy had them in his rig. He had them for a couple weeks then did something really smart and trashed them and got BILSTEINS. I am running the same Bilsteins that I bought 6 years ago, and they ride as awesome as the first day I installed them. There is no substitute...on or off road.

I have the Reflex's. My stock shocks had around 250,000 miles on them so anything was an improvement.

i have close to the same amount of money in my bilstiens as terryj has in the SensaTracs. his rides better, but i'm convinced it's the cornfeds that make the difference, because with worn-out shocks on the rear his 4runner still rode smoother than mine.

Netwt,
I don't see how 2" spacers would make any difference in the ride of the truck. Andy's (Bamachem) suspension setup definitely makes a difference from what he's told me, but he changed springs, shocks, etc. I'd love to get down to Auburn and drive Terry's to see how it feels.

BTW, yesterday I went over to Andy's and he cut the lower "hockey puck" off of each rear conical bumpstop which gave an extra 1" or 1-1/4" of travel before bottoming out. I can already notice a difference. I'd like to upgrade these shocks and struts and build upon this improvement, but I strongly recommend cutting your bumpstops if you're not lifted.

Matt, You already have all my info I sent you in the pm a while back. As I stated, they will give you a noticable improvement (I doubt anything else will be notibably better), but it is still a truck-based vehicle as opposed to the car-based Highlander & others. Good luck bro!

i put sensatracs on my moms explorer they are a lot better than her dead stock ones....

also when i wirked @ wheel works, the sensatruacks were the #1 shock we put on suvs.... and the reflexes were #1 for people with working trucks as in wanted a good ride, but needed light duty not jsut passenger vehicle stuff
