Mod bug done already bit me ... Backspacing question

Well I have not had my Runner a week and I need to modify it. I have not decided completely on a lift yet but am looking to start with the BJ Spacers, Coils and a bodylift. I am leaning towards BFG 33x10.5x15's. I found a good deal on some 15x8" rims but they have 3.25" backspacing. Is this too little? Any suggestions on as what to expect or what to mod to clear any rubbing?

TIA ... Lee

That might be too much backspacing...isn't it that the smaller the number the more backspacing you have? Maybe not...(EDIT: And to think I've been on here for so long and still get that mixed up...sheesh!)

I feel you on the modding bug, I didn't have my 4runner but 48 hours before I got Husky's and an Optima Yellow top along with a lot of other things.

Let us know how it all turns out for ya!

The higher the number the more backspacing. I dont think you will have much problem with 3.25 since you are using 33x10.50s. It might be just the ticket with those tires since they dont have the width of a 12.50. How much it rubs will depend on the BL you get. How much of a body lift are you wanting?

I was thinking 2", no more.

All other things being equal, a wheel with a 4" backspace will sit further outboard than the same wheel with a 5" backspace.

The 33/10.5's will clear by a mile with BJ's and a BL. You could clear them with no lift at all (but they would rub some).
