Missing Person post on AZOD

Someone on AZOD (Arizona Outdoorsman) posted a missing person report. I thought it might be worthwhile to post up the picture and statement he wrote on AZOD @ Yotatech since there are quite a few of us from AZ here that are very familiar with local trails, maybe someone will recognize this picture:

"Can anyone on here help locate this picture?

My father received this picture in an email. In his reply to the email he said had been there before and was going to go check it out further. He left his home in Sun City on Friday morning and has not returned. Dad needs insulin daily and we don't think he has much with him nor is it like him to be gone this long. He is driving a 98 Jeep Cherokee, White in color with AZ plates of GMF-795. He has been known to hike and hunt around the Wickenburg area as well as Quartzite and Prescott but left no other information about where he was going this weekend. We have filled missing persons report and MCSO have said they will start a search if any info can be gleaned to give them a starting point.

My family is asking anyone we can find who may know where this picture came from. If you have anything to add, even if it seems minor please email me to bassslayer01@yahoo.com.

Regards,
Bill "

MODS: I thought this would be the best forum to post in, if it belongs elsewhere then that is OK.

Thanks,
Brian

I agree Mark - I just thought it would be worth it to see if someone might recognize the mountains/structure along that trail?

I don't recognize it, but I am curious about that hut/shack. That could crack this case. I will FW this to my uncle who is a native and an avid outdoorsman here in AZ.

I live in NY, but have family in Tuscon, AZ. I know it's 80 miles from Sun City, but you never know. I have forwarded a copy of the picture to them just in case. Hope all works out well.

Brian,
I have searched a bunch of Sun City news sites, and haven't seen anything on this. It seems it would be a good idea to submit this photo to them as well.

When mom went missing we emailed info to EVERYONE that we could think of, and put posters up all over Colorado. Email hiking clubs, the blm, post on boards just like you are, put posters up wherever people would get gear. The cops do a heck of a job but we found they couldn't get the info out like we could. Local tv stations are always looking for a story, too. Just some ideas, though I'm sure lots of it's been done. Keep at it and at it, sometimes it takes several times before the right person sees the call for help. Best of luck and best wishes,
Susan.

*UPDATE*
I passed the location on to him on Wed and have not heard anything more on it. It ended up being south of Wickenburg and was located by a jeep club posting.

i'm not exactly sure but it kind of looks like country around Stanton/Octave ne of Wickenburg. Lots of shacks, lots of trails, old mines and such.

Does anyone here know the guy who posted on AZOD? I've been searching Arizona news sites and can't find any stories on this. The AZOD forum shows no updates. And he said his father received the picture in an email, which he also replied to. Couldn't he contact the person who sent the email, to find out where the photo came from?
I hate to say it, if it's legitimate, but it almost sounds like a hoax. I certainly hope it's not. That would be pretty low.
