Missing gasket/seal on MAF?

Howdy guys,

Today I cleaned out my TB, and sprayed down the MAF wires with electronics cleaner. When reassembling, I was kinda surprised to see that there is no true seal or gasket mating the MAF assembly to the airbox. There is a rubber flange attached to the MAF that slides into the hole in the airbox, but there is nothing to tighten the two pieces together for a good seal (only thing keeping the MAF in place is it's two mounting bolts). I could easily see a small gap between the MAF and airbox when I wiggled the assembly.

Am I missing a piece? I can't imagine Toyota would just leave it un-sealed like that.

It dosen't look like the 3.4 has a true gasket according to the diagram on this (Toyota parts page). I know the the 2.7 and the 22re uses a flat gasket for the MAF but I guess the 3.4's dont. My mothers Xterra had the same gap like what you were describing, I just used some black silicone to seal it.
