Misfire after rain

So after a good rain, the Taco cranks up fine and idles fine. But when I give it some throttle it runs really rough- skipping basically.

The first time it did this the check engine light started flashing.

After it warms for a bit it all smooths out.

What's the culprit on this?

I just bought new plugs, cap, rotor, and wires to replace when I do a valve clearance check.

Also, what's the difference between a flashing check engine light and one that just stays lit.

Thanks all.

flashing CEL usually means mechanical failure such as a misfire. In other words it means bad news. Check your o2 sensors

uhh actually if you have a mechanical distributor idk how an o2 sensor would cause a misfire. my chevy did that once. Computer changed the timing for bad air/fuel mix

turkeykiller365,

Thanks for the reply. I figured a flashing CEL was worse. Just replaced O2 sensors (front 10K ago and back 1K ago). CEL stopped flashing when I cranked it back up. Scanned for code and it was misfire on Cyl 3. Cleared it and it hasn't come back.

Is there a way for water to get into the distributor, etc.?

yeah. we had that happen to a jeep once but it had had like 3 cups of water in the intake plenum. ie, there was water in everything. It didn't run at all. An air flow sensor might cause it too. no idea what kind of airflow sensor a 2RZ has. if its a hotwire one, theyre very sensiotive
