So my odometer flipped over the 200,000 mark yesterday on my ride home from work. I remember watching it change to 50k then the milestone 100k ... now 200k is unchartered territory. My goal when I drove him home was to see if I can get as close as I can to 500,000 as a daily driver. So needless to say I'm not a rock crawler but a lover of all things Toyota. I've kept up with the normal maintenance and I fix things before they become issues. I never had a build thread and I'm not big on engine mods. I like the way Toyota designed and built it. So as he ages I tend to utilize those that part out as a way to replace items that through age have or will begin to fail.... from my broken horribly designed cuphoders, to my clock that has been hidden inside my dash somewhere for 10 years. I've even begun to search for the lowest price engine/trans replacements that I can just roll under my workbench for a day in which a transplant might be needed. In any event I thought about documenting where we are at hopefully near mid life and see how far he goes. So I leave today for a week in Hatteras/Okracoke which is the extent of the offroad he sees. I'll post more moving forward.

312,000 yesterday. Last week I took my wife and daughters on a 1,500 miles round trip through the smokey mountains with complete confidence.

Try this maintenence regime:

10,000 mile oil change, factory filter, Mobil 1 synthetic.

never miss a 30,000 mile preventive maintenence:

Engine oil & filter (I also drain the ATF pan - about 4 quarts).
Engine air filter
Engine coolant
Non-Platinum spark plugs
Lubricate driveshafts
Clean MAF & PCV
Clean throttle body

Every 60,000:

Replace Transmission fluid or oil
Replace Differential oil
Replace Transfer case oil

Factory parts ONLY. I've been a NAPA guinea pig. Cheaps parts are too expensive, trust me.
