Major sway issues after lifting 99 Prerunner
#22
My old 97 4runner had a sway bar in the front which I believe is the same front suspension. I put a 2.5 ome lift on it which improved handling. I broke my front sway bar while off road. I removed it before I drove on the street again so I am not sure how it would feel with it broken. If your sway bar is broken it could cause more body roll. When the front sway bar was removed it caused more body roll but it never felt like I was going to loose control.
You may also want to check to make sure that everything is tightened to the proper torque spec.

well I spoke to Icon. They are saying that my front end is too heavy with an ARB front bumper and warn winch. So they recommend to upgrade to a 700lb 14" spring by Eibach. One shop was saying I need a front diff drop, but I'm not sure that will make much of a difference. Also I see camber on my fron tires, the tops point in more than the bottoms, although it is "aligned" to spec, this may need to be tweaked rather than being setup to spec. What do you all think? Thanks for all the suggestions.

wow this thread is a mess haha. But really I dont run sway bars front or rear and my truck does not wonder around at speed. Your "Prerunner" package is just a rear locker, and bilstein shocks. You have a problem somewhere else. Your sway bars did not get disconnect by some evil sway bar monster during the night. If I had to take a stab at it I would say get a second opinion from a shop to make sure your aligned right in the front. If barely any tire is in contact with the road,(because you have too much camburg?) your steering can feel down right scary, trust me, been there done that.
Post pics of your angles in the front.
And you probably do need a diff drop.

NOW WHO FEELS LIKE THE RETARD!!!..lmao..he has a prerunner dude...no front CV's...hahahahaha unless he's converted it to 4wd?...
just because you have an ARB and such shouldn't matter...lots of people run arbs with ALLLLLL different kinds of suspension setups and i never heard them complaining about body roll?..

because it's a 99 2wd 4runner.......................DUH.......the only 4runner's to EVER come from the factory with leaf springs were the 1st gens from 1984-1989
and you wouldn't have replace the coils with leaf springs if you dont even know what the offroad package is..lmao..
