I just recently changed the oil in my 4runner 04 v8, now the maint light comes on. I checked the oil its light brown .By the way the oil is amsoil 10w40. is there a way i can remove the maint light without going to the dealer.

 

I don't know about your light, but you should probably be using the recommended 5w30 instead of 10w40.

 

This light comes on no matter what at every 5k (blinking) and stays on at 7500. Just a reminder to change the oil. If this is not the case, then have the dealer check it out.

Resetting the light is in your manual under engine oil replacement reminder light.

Turn the key off.

Turn the key on while holding the trip meter reset button. Hold it down until the light goes out. It will stay on for three seconds, blink for two, stay on for one and stop.
