I'm in the process of cleaning it. I'm using the standard writeup and it says to clean both wires like in the pic:


I can only see the smaller wire on the side on mine, is there supposed to be a wire in the middle of the circle or is that an error on the writeup?

I believe its an error, otherwise my moms is missing it too.

 

The other wire is down in the shaft of the MAF. Look into the tube with a flashlight and you'll see the two wires in there.
