low idle, 3rd generation

alrighty, here is my current problem. my 99 4runner will run fine wile driving down the road but when i am at a red light or just sitting somewhere i have noticed that it idle kind of rough, at about 500 rpms, and sometimes when i start it up it will idle really, really low and then cut off, but then it will start of fine the next time if i just give it a little gas when i start it up. this just does not happen when it is cold, it has happen right after i have cut it off then back on again. ooh, it seems to idle rough mostly in gear and not in park. this may sound a bit confusing, but i have no clue what the problem is so any info would be most helpful.

thanks

you should try kicking the idle up a bit, by adjusting your TB screw (IAC)

No way to adjust that on a 3rd gen.

You should follow all 5 pages of this maintenance guide (if you haven't already):
http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/mainte...30k/index.html

If you still have problems, post back.

I've had similar problem with my 97 runner and it was the idle control valve.I've also heard of maf sensor dirty on vehicles running oiled filters such as k&n type.
