There is a place here called "certi-fit". They sell a bunch of stuff. I'll call and see if I can get a price. They are local and I if they have it, I can take a look at the hood.

i know you're not going to buy that one but, if an aftermarket hood costs $360 to ship to you, you might as well buy a factory OEM hood and they usually pick up the freight charges and you go and pick it up from the dealer. this is what i paid for mine:

53301-35170 Hood Sub-Assy, Sport Hood ($325.29)

that's just the hood, not the shizzle that fits inside it. but i don't think you get that stuff with the aftermarket stuff either. fit and finish were prefect of course from the dealer.

You are probibly right, that is why i found one local for $150 and picked it up today actually!

Where DID you get the mesh or whatever it is called that goes in the scoop? I can make my own but would prefer to buy one. I am about to make a post about this actually.

i bought everything from the dealer when i did mine, that little mesh insert is one of the items. now that it's nice out and i'm able to go outside again, i'm going to make a mini write up or FAQ about the sport hood and all the components and whatnot for anyone considering it. that's what the majority of the PMs i get are about so i might as well make a post for others to access the info so i don't have to answer the same stuff again and again. the part #s and list of things i bought are in my show off thread at the very bottom post.

Well, guess I should excuse myself from this conversation.....as I no longer have need of a sport hood.....since I don't have a 4Runner any more......*sigh*...
