Question Looking for ideas on new pedal pads

I don't want the cheap slide on crap it scares me that it will come off when I really need the brakes. Any ideas?

Just get some new stock ones from Toyota. Otherwise, if you want after market, get Momo or Sparco or soemthing good.

Sparco pedals: http://www.sparcousa.com/tuning_pedals.asp

Momo pedals: http://www.momousa.com/products.php?subcat=6

I like the look of the Sparco's better.

The nicest ones I could find where by OMP racing. Post when you decide what to buy. I'd like to see what you come up with.

I was thinking of using some grip tape, but that sounds like a solution too.

But what happens when it wares out? Then you have to scrape it off for 3 hours!

I use the basic OMP OA 1000 set in my Tacoma, and I love them - mainly for the increased pedal surface area they give me.

One thing about OMP's... Since they're descended from racing pedals, most or all their models are metal without any 'grips'. People always ask about slippery-ness when wet. I've never found them any more slippery than the hard rubber ones, but then again I always wear rubber-soled shoes.

OMP makes an accessory set of little rubber 'pegs' or 'studs' that you can insert into holes in some models to add grips. The (racing-experienced) vendor I got the OA 1000's from (I think it was MotorSpot? in California) said they'd removed the rubber grip set from their online catalog because the material was so hard it actually made the pedals *more* slippery for multiple people who'd used them.

My point? Metal's not necessarily too slippery; rubber's not necessarily 'grippy' enough ...

I have had the cheap slide on pedals for over 80K miles. Plenty of emergency braking there and I haven't had a single problem.

Won't the pedals for a Celica GT or a IS300 fit?
