i cant seem to find anything (pics or topics) about what goes into the little locking panel (on the right side of the cargo area), i originally though the jack and tire tools went there cause mine was empty when i bought my 4R. to my embarrassment, i found out that the jack and what not were under the seat. anyways, what went in there? does anyone have pics of what it was? thanks!

 

I believe it was just an open compartment. I use mine to house my jumper cables and electrical accesories such as multimeter, fuses, etc.

 

For some years (from what I can tell), it was for warning triangles, but those were only actually included in Europe. You can buy them, though.


Some years had a smaller compartment, and I am not sure what that was for. As far as I can tell, everyone's seems to have been empty when they took delivery.


I put a tool kit in mine, and am working on a first aid kit (post 42).

A lot of people put recovery straps in there, but I put mine under the driver's seat. I do have a shackle in there, though.

 

I have straps, rope, spare lights bulbs, and a fold out shovel in mine! I have seen some people mod up a air compressors in there too!
