locating current opening efi relay
I have a 1986 4 runner. The fuel pump is new and works fine. Once installed, I tested it with a jumper wire, direct from the battery. The car starts just fine. However, it won"do so on it's own, there is no power to the pump. I checked with the parts department, at three different dealers, and they all say that the likely cause is a defective current opening efi relay. Now they all say It's located under the dash on the passenger side. I pulled the kick pannel, and the glove box. There is a relay left of the glove box opening, but the numbers don"t match. The part No. on the side of the correct relay is supposed to 8591014020. I need to find the correct relay to replace it. Plus they indicate there's now way to test the relay, Is that true? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You'll probably find most of that information on my web page (and it is the Circuit Opening Relay):
