Limited slip for 4Runner

I am about to undertake alot of mods to my 'Runner and think this would be a good time for a limited slip. My first priority is street performance! I plan on starting an FJ80 project for off road. Therefore no buttons, just no spinning. Does anybody have experience with limited slips(TRD,Eaton,etc.). They all seem to be about the same price. And is this a bolt in procedure without having to make re-adjustments? The only other product I'm considering would be a Detroit soft locker as a buddy has an FJ80 with a regular locker and when I drive his truck I don't even know it's there. Since his is an off road beast it may be masking some of the annoyances I've read about but not experinced(other than the occasional CLUNK). Since my 'Runner is alot quieter and smoother I want to keep it that way.

I don't think that one works. There was a guy awhile ago that went w/ the TRD locker and found out it doesn't fit. IIRC, it's made for a Tacoma non-TRD version, which is 8.4, not the typical 8".

Detroit Trutrak is a nice LSD-type locker that many like. I don't know of anyone w/ this on a 3rd gen but search is your friend...

IIRC, Gadget has the Detroit TruTrac. You might like to check his site: www.gadgetonline.com
