Hi all.
I am changing out the mast on my power antenna.
As I understand it (Form Bob, and Waskilly's write ups), I need to remove my fender flare to get to the fender liner to open up the area to get to the motor.

I am having a tough time getting the flares off....

I did a couple of searches, and none that I can find describe just what you have to do to get these flares off. I have removed all the screws and bolts that I see, and they still seem on there pretty good.

Can someone please tell me exactly what I have to do to get the flares off?

When I ripped out my power antenna, I didn't have to pull the flare.

There are a number of screws (5 I think) that hold the liner to the inside of the wheel well. They're on the outside edge of the liner, and follow the curve of the wheel well.

There's one screw at the bottom rear edge of the flare (just under the front edge of the running board if you still have them on) that needs to come out. Once that's out, you can pop the bottom rear edge of the flare away from a small bracket.

Then I removed 3 of the liner screws (the rear most, then the next two up) and pulled the liner away from the well.

Once the liner's pulled away, you can look up into the well and see the antenna motor. To get it out, there's a bolt at the bottom, and then the screw collar on the outside of the fender.

Just to clarify, pulling the well liner won't get you access to the engine compartment from the outside. That would require removing the fender.

edit: The flare is held on by the same wonderful pop clips that hold on the interior door panels. Once that bottom rear screw is out of the flare, then pulling on the flare itself will pop it away from the fender. If you have one of the handle door-pop-clip tools, that'll help, otherwise, just give it a yank or two.

Are you sure you need to remove the fender flare, or is it possible they/you mean the fender liner???

I have previously permanently removed my fender flares. My fender flares were on with bolts/nuts and screws, and not the limited style, and I don't remember which were the front, bolt or screws.

The key is that once all the bolts are off, you just have to pull because there are fasteners on the surface of the fenders (like the inner door panel ones) and a touch of what appears to be adheshive holding them on.

HELP, I feel like offing the stupid fender and wheel line. I have been at this for 1 hour and no luck. My antenna motor died on me.
