howdy, ok i have an 84 toyota and everything lit up in my truck flickers. never goes out but flickers. i've been told to check the ground, well the ground is just fine. my alternator is brand new, like a month old and the lights flickered before the new alternator. i thought it might be the voltage regulator, or even some type of instrument pulling more amperage than the others. well today i cut my truck off at a long train wait and my truck wouldnt start back up bc of not enough power from the bat. so i got it home and charged it and it works fine now but i dont know how to stop the flickering. PLEASE HELP BC THIS CRAP IS ANNOYING.

 

A friend of mine just recently had the same problem in his (forgive me for saying this) Dodge p/u and it ended up being a bad cell in the battery. He had the same symptoms as you but over time the CCA's of the battery just weakened to where it would not even turn over. Hope this helps! Good luck

 

hey i fixed it, the problem was in the voltage reglator. so if anyone has the same problem and sees this, heres your answer. thanks.
