If anyone cares, I'm going to run 1" RB body lift and 2" suspension lift and hopefully be able to easily clear 285/75R16's. Anyone know this will work for sure?

any reason to not go with a 2inch BL too? 3 Inches should be fine, but if you wheel, your still gonna rub everynow and then.

I still haven't figured out why I have the lift I have and run 285/75 16's and have no running issues, since I did the panhard drop. dude, you don't need a body lift to clear the 285's on our year and setup. whatever lift you go with, the ome/ome or the ome/downey, or the SAW/ome or downey you should clear them no problem as long as you do the panhard drop. the only time I ever rubbed was at full flex on the trail while testing the suspension and that was before the panhard drop, dropped the panhard bar and everything is good and no rubbing even at full flex.

So are what you guys are saying is that if I'm running 2" suspension lift front and rear with a 1998 limited, I won't rub as long as I do the Panhard drop mod and no front discos? And if I run front discos, I need the 1" Body lift to not rub, right?

Stock rims? You shouldnt have a problem. I tend to rub every now and then cause of my backspacing. My tires stick out a little more than they should be. Ohh, and that whole swaybar thing just didnt make sense to me. Why would you want one of those?

I think there are quite a few people here running 285s with just a 2 inch lift even. I basically have a 3.5-4 totall...still rub off-roading, but its my own damn fault for buying rims for looks.

sorry I gotta jump in again, stock backspacing is about 4-5/8. I have aftermarket wheels with 4" backspacing and I don't rub. O know "swaybar shmaybar." that is another war on another thread, hehe. the only reason I don't disco mine on the trails is, well, I don't have quick disco's, yet hehe. after, well, I figure I may rub a little up front. by the way PoBoy, you get that axle seal fixed? is it holding?

Just take the damn thing out and take it easy on turns My Runner is one of the few that rubbed with stock sus and 265/75/16s. So I attributed it to the rims I have. Downey lift fixed that problem, but there was no chance of fitting 285s on w/o body lift. This is a crappy res pic, but you can kind of see how much my tires hang out. They are pretty bad. No rub in back...all front.

So far so good on the axle seals. I thought the driver was leaking too, but it the signals disappeared. Must have just been some grease from the passenger side flining over. Got a pipe bender? Ill fly ya up if you bring that up? Ive got a little project going on that needs a little fabbing

Yours stick out about this far right? these are mine. I may just remove that swaybar and see what goes on. I just don't want my wife driving it that way. I ain't got a pipe bender sorry, but if you bring it down here I can get one of my machinists at work to do it, haha. oh yea, don't forget I have the fender flares and it doesn't look like yours does, so I bet ours are pretty close.

keep an eye on it and I'd pull the wheel and drum sometime to check out the inerds. I've had it get wet and then it dries up but it is still caked in the drum and saturated in the brake shoes and show no external signs of leak. I just happened to notice it while rotating tires and the brakes kind of stuck a little when I'd be going really slow.

Yeah its hard to tell. I wanna say mine stick out futher, but the tread on the BFGs is quite different from the Goodyears (I will be returning to BFGs or Swampers after these wear out..not a fan of the Goodyears).
We'll have to meet up in Arkansas sometime at the Superlfit park. Ive been meaning to get a hold of data (forum member) and get down there for some good times.

I'll be rotating tires real soon, so ill check it then. Moving into a place with a 2 car garage finally!!! So I can get back to doing stuff myself again. Plus, I just got a daily driver...a Jeep Wrangler. Haha...Im backasswards. My wrangler is my commuter and my 4Runner is my trail rig.

Ohh...ITS STILL FORSALE TOO!! HAHAHA. Someone buy it before the D44 goes in!! Then again, Im sure someone would buy it if it was SAS'ed.

I guess all guys wanna think theirs sticks out further. :pat:

Sounds cool. shoot me a pm a couple weeks before you plan to go and I'll see what I can do. been wanting to get back up to the white river for some fly fishing just below the dam but haven't had more than that for a reason to go. I haven't seen Data posting in a while, but maybe I haven't been in the same threads or something. anyway, let me know, I'm game.

oh the MTR's, not many people, on an earlier thread I saw anyway, prefer the BFG's over the MTR's. I guess I'm weird because I like my BFG's, I like 'em cuz there loud and people definately know I'm next to them, even with there windows up.

13-14 highway...on a damn good day with the wind at my back. I just took a 180lb sub box out of my trunk. So maybe that will give me another mpg.
