Is a lift, 285's and towing a bad idea?

I tow a 2000lb pop-up camper w/ family thru the mtns about 5000 miles/yr with a 01 Taco Dcab V6 Auto 4x4 3.4NA 4.10gears with a 1 inch lift & 265/75 (31.8dia) tires. Here's my experience. When towing in D at 70mph rpm=3200, I have good power and good gearing. Your 33s would bring the rpm down a bit more (4%?) than mine which it OK. Here's my problem...when I'm not towing, the auto wants to shift out of OD and out of lock-up for any hill, or extra head wind, especially if I have extra drag (Bikes.kayaks) on top. If you install 33s on that auto, you'll want to shift out of OD A LOT on the highway. Let's see if others who have that setup chime in with there experience. My auto is a 1-1 in D, .703-1 in OD.
