Lexus or Toyota Key Blank

When I bought my 02-Runner used I got the standard no OE plastic cut keys for it and wondered which models of uncut key replacement I could purchase whether it could be Lexus "kinda cool" or the toyota " kool enough" OE Key. I was looking to get them on ebay a bit chaepre than a dealer anyway.

Thanks

If I'm getting your question, the blank Toyota key is just that, a blank. I went to the dealer the other day b/c I also had one of those generic keys for my truck and wanted an OEM one. All what the dealer did was take the blank and make a new key for me based on my generic one.

As far as Lexus, if they have the same blanks, then sure can do the same thing. I'm just not sure when they started coming out w/ the keys w/ chips in them.

You can still cut an immobilizer key to use on your veh despite not having the immobilizer system. The chip inside the key would never get registered, but I know a guy with a 2000 Taco who did this. The newer Lexus master keys are different, in addition to a lot them having remotes on the key they are straight on the oustide and cut down the middle. But I am sure there sub keys are still regular, I don't know if they will fit Toyota but damn, Lexus' parts still come in Toyota boxes. If ya wanna spend that type of money, they are expensive keys.

My OE key broke, the plastic part, so I got a copy made from a kiosk they have at the mall. They have OE look-a-like keys for $10. Heres a pic of my copy (left) to the OE (right).

The OE one at the dealer was $15 for me, in case anyone wanted to know.
