I dont have a thread yet. This is just in the planning and parts collecting stages. I still have to buy my '98 4Runner back as I totalled it. Then the swap will begin!

Wait, so this will be a "Lexus 4Runner??" Also, Lexus engines are rebadged Toyota's, right?

I'm interested in which engine you're going to swap in?

Why, the famed 1UZ of course! Quad-cam all-aluminum V-8 Cebby is also working on this swap, and a guy "down under" already has it.

The 1UZ is only offered in a Lexus in the US. It is offered in some Toyotas in Japan.

This is the first year the Lexus name has gone outside America, in Japan they opened 34 dealerships on the same day ealier this year. (not sure about Canada though, about 30% of the RX series suv's are made there)

Some really cool Toyotas sold in Japan were actually re-badged to Toyota
check out the Toyota Soarer, a rebadged hopped up SC300/400
